In addition to digital painting, I'm also available for traditionally painted commissions in acrylics and oils. Here are a few examples of original paintings in both mediums.

Please drop me an e-mail if you'd like to commission a traditional painting, small or large, oil or acrylics... whatever you want!
"Neil is a fantastic artist and can truly capture the essence of the subject in one of his wonderful caricatures. He's also very reasonable too - I'd certainly recommend his services to anyone looking for something a little more unique to hang on their wall" - Jen, London

I've caricatured individuals, couples, families and groups with many different jobs, hobbies and interests - pets and animals; cars, bikes, boats and planes; all sorts of sports and holiday locations too. I work hard to make my caricatures as personal and unique to each person as possible to make them a truly memorable present!
A gift caricature is a completely unique present, perfect for birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, retirements, graduations… almost any special occasion! I aim for my caricatures to be the best quality available so you can be proud to give them as a gift. So what do you need to do when you commission me?
1) To create a top quality caricature I need a few high quality photographs of the subject or subjects. The more photos and the higher resolution the better, as all the detail will help me get the best likeness and really capture the person perfectly. Ideally with a big smile!
2) Ideas! I love to work with my customers ideas for the theme of the caricature, so that it’s all the more personal to them. Gift caricatures look best with a strong, simple theme - rather than dozens of random items crammed into the picture. Remember, it’s the person who has to be centre stage! Please have a look through the Gift Examples galleries to see the huge range of themes and ideas I've created.
On the right are a few examples of my process - once I have the reference photographs and the idea is worked out, I’ll draw up a rough sketch which I’ll e-mail to you for you to look over and give me feedback on. Once you’re happy, I’ll move on and complete the final picture. The time scale can be a couple of days to a couple of weeks depending on how complicated the picture is.
When it's finished, I'll e-mail you again to make sure you're completely happy with the final caricature. When you are, I'll print it and post it straight to you. I print all my caricatures on A3 heavy weight matte paper, but if you wanted a larger print or even have the caricature printed onto canvas, I have a supplier who can meet all those needs. I do not currently offer a framing service.
Click here for a copy of my price list - it is just a guide really as each job is unique and is priced as such. Before I begin work, I always ask for a 25% deposit.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions, quote requests or anything else!
I've caricatured many famous faces and celebrities for illustration jobs, private commissions and just for fun. For more information about illustration work, please visit my sister website Neil Davies Caricature Illustration:
